Concept 2
By far the most well known rowing machine on the market today is the Concept 2. The Concept 2 Rower is a commercial grade machine used by fitness enthusiasts, health clubs, corporate fitness centers, and rehabilitation clinics around the world. Along with health and rehabilitation purposes, the concept II rowing machine is used for indoor rowing competitions around the globe. It can also be seen in rowing competitions such as the Crash-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships and the British Indoor Rowing Championship.
The Concept2 Model D rowing machine works by using air resistance. As you pull on the handle, this turns a flywheel where the friction between the fan blades and the air produces the resistance you feel when rowing. The harder you pull, the greater the resistance will be.
